Burke Shire Council Flood Relief Voucher
In March 2023, Burke Shire Council received a $100,000 donation from the Mount Isa North West Flood Relief Group in response to the flooding that occurred in Mount Isa. Council has decided that this donation will be used to put money back into our local economy by issuing eligible adult with gift vouchers totalling $200 to spend at local businesses. Distribution of the vouchers has now closed however, you will be able to redeem your Voucher at the participating businesses until June 20, 2024

Terms and Conditions
- Vouchers are only available to residents 18+ who were personally impacted by the Northern and Central Monsoon Flooding 2023 or are currently residing in Burke Shire for the recovery period (between the flooding event and 30 September 2023).
- Residents must provide evidence of their residency within the Burke Shire Region to be considered eligible.
- The voucher amount must be spent at participating stores/businesses in the Burke Shire Council region at a participating business in one transaction by the expiry date printed on the front of the voucher (being 30 June 2024).
- Any amount over $50.00 must be paid for by the purchaser at the time of purchase. If the transaction is less than value of the voucher/s the purchaser forfeits the amount up to the value of the voucher/s.
- Vouchers must be redeemed by 30 June 2024; no exceptions will be made to this date at any stage.
- Vouchers cannot be refunded in full or in part for cash and must be surrendered at the time of purchase to one of the nominated venues as per section 6 of this procedure.
- Vouchers are not transferable
- Lost, stolen or damaged voucher will not be replaced or refunded.
- Vouchers cannot be used to purchase alcohol products and/or smoking and/or vaping products.
- The Burke Shire Council reserves the right to amend terms and conditions or cancel vouchers used fraudulently and/or outside the stated terms and conditions at any point in time.
- Vouchers must be collected in person by 30 September 2023 unless in exceptional circumstances as determined by Council where alternate arrangements will be made.

Flood Voucher Frequently Asked Questions
When can I collect my vouchers?
The last day to collect vouchers will be 30 September 2023.
When is the expiry date of the vouchers?
Vouchers will expire on the 30 June 2024. Vouchers will not be accepted after this date.
Can I use the voucher outside of Burke Shire?
No, vouchers can only be used at participating Businesses listed on the voucher and the Burke Shire Council Website.
Do I have to spend all my vouchers at one business?
No, each voucher can be spent at a different business however you cannot spend one voucher at more than one business i.e. you cannot use one voucher for more than one transaction.
If my bill is over $50 do I have to pay for the remaining amount?
Yes, a single voucher will only cover a $50 transaction. If the transaction is greater than $50 the voucher holder will be responsible to cover the remaining amount. You can use another voucher to cover the amount but note that vouchers must be spent in a single transaction.
If my bill is under $50 can I use the remaining amount in another transaction?
No, as per the terms and conditions, vouchers must be surrendered to the business at the time of the transaction and vouchers can only be used in a single transaction. If the bill is below $50, the remaining money will be forfeited.
I lost my voucher, can I get a replacement?
No, as per the terms and conditions lost, stolen or damaged voucher cannot be replaced or refunded.
